    February 2, 2012

Greg Farber has joined Cove Street Capital as director of institutional marketing and client service, the firm announced. He began in the role on Jan. 17.

In the new position, Farber manages Cove Street’s institutional sales, marketing, consultant relations and client service functions.

The firm currently has approximately $300 million in assets under management. Prior to joining Cove Street, Farber was a managing director of business development for the Advisory Services Group at J.P. Morgan Securities.

Previously, he held similar positions at Bear Stearns and Oppenheimer & Company.

“As Cove Street continues to grow, we’re pleased to add Greg to our team in an effort to bring our classic value strategies to the institutional marketplace,” said Founder and CIO Jeffrey Bronchick, in a statement. “Greg’s focus is on building relationships with investment consultants, identifying sub-advisory opportunities, and using his experience with financial advisers to increase our distribution. His appointment enables the research team to remain focused on investing and building on our solid start last year.”
