    When conducting a search, Jeffrey Ringdahl, coo of American Beacon Advisors and v.p. of American Beacon Funds, said the firm will start with a database screen, and in areas with numerous managers such as domestic large-cap growth equity, for example, the firm will screen for managers by their product’s age, the age of the firm and certain risk characteristics until they narrow down the list to 20-25 firms.
